that time of year already?

Today I had to submit my dissertation topic. Oh how I wish I could go back to undergrad level and write a 6000 word dissertation and create an advertising campaign that lasted the year. Postgrad level means a 15,000 word dissertation that links to the ad campaign. I've been racking my brain for a few weeks and today I have decided to do a consultancy based dissertation; promoting the Manchester Whitworth Gallery. It means I can study culture (which I love) and I get to visit the gallery lots..an added bonus.

Is it geeky of me to say I'm quite excited to get stuck in?

I love BUTTONS!!

When I was younger I would sit for hours playing with buttons..sorting them into piles of shapes and colour. Then a few years ago I inherited thousands of vintage buttons and I decided to make colourful button jewellery, but I grew out of it.

Then a few days ago I got bored and decided to fill things with buttons...

OBSESSED MUCH?

Hope

My heart goes out to those in Australia and Brazil.

I have a phobia of birds but..

the Black Swan was astonishing!
I had no inhibitions to see this film but was practically forced to watch it - and I'm so glad I did! Regardless if you're a fan of ballet or not I would definitely recommend this film. I didn't expect it to be so chilling. Natalie Portman is a beautiful dancer and her transition into the black swan is incredible.

and they're out!

The Gaga & Polaroid collab information has finally been released!

Grey Label definitely encapsulates Gaga's personality!  There are currently three products in the range:

A portable printer - which requires no ink! The paper actually has ink crystals in it and the printer heats the paper to form the image.

Digital Polaroid camera - very aesthetically pleasing and allows you to choose from a range of borders and filters.

Camera glasses (EXCITED) - You can take a photo and then view it on the glasses and allow others to see it too. These remind me of something from the future - I wonder how long it will be until there are copycats..

I have a feeling Polaroid cameras will no longer just be used by creatives and indie kids.

new favorite film

Tron in a nutshell: wow

It was definitely worth seeing Tron at the Imax, the colour, the sound, the sfx, were all amazing. I have a pretty short attention span and normally fidget towards the end of films but I was hooked the entire movie. There were the classic games from the first Tron movie but there was much more of a storyline and Daft Punk were an ideal choice for the soundtrack.

going gaga for polaroid

Not long now until we see the unveiling of the collab between Gaga and Polaroid. Both icons in their own right, I'm expected big things.

I love polaroids.. not the tacky vector stuff you seen splattered over myspace and stock sites but actually going out and taking gritty, finger smudged photos. I still have my camera I got when I was about 10 years old, it's just a shame the film is so expensive.

happy new year
